YOUTH SERVICE CLUB MEMBERS RING BELLS TO HELP OTHERS

Student representatives from the WV School District, including members of the Kiwanis High School Key Club and the Wide Hollow K Kids Club, participated in the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle fundraising drive by taking turns ringing bells. The Wide Hollow Elementary "K Kids Club" has completed its support of the school's annual food drive. This group of 42 fifth graders assisted in planning, advertising, and managing all classroom food donations. Together, they collected over 1,700 food items to support local programs. A special thank you goes out to these service leaders, as well as to all the parents, students, and staff at Wide Hollow, for their dedication to helping others!

RECYCLING SUPPORTS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

The Kiwanis Club of West Valley manages two recycling bins to help our environment and fund local community service projects.    Please recycle all your old magazines, copy paper, newsprint, and paper board at one of our two recycling bins at Tieton Village (3708 Tieton Drive) and Yakima Battery and Auto Electric (3402) Fruitvale Blvd. Your donations will help support local West Valley Kiwanis community service projects.

The Kiwanis Club of West Valley and their sponsored service leadership program members hosted a clean-up of the West Valley Community Park on Saturday, October 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers collected litter, trimmed overgrown brush, and performed other light maintenance activities. All volunteers should wear work clothes and gloves.

“We’ve found that inviting community members to join our service projects helps our community and shows them who we are and what we do”, said Ken Irwin, project chair.  Join us at our next project...you will have fun and make a difference in our community!
